Baking & ProductionPrepare and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, and desserts to exact recipes.Scale and portion recipes accurately to meet event guest counts.Decorate and present pastries and plated desserts to company or client standards.Monitor baking times and oven temperatures for proper product execution. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]Catering Operations & LogisticsPlan production schedules to ensure all baked goods are fresh and ready for event delivery.Collaborate with catering chefs to design and execute event menus.Pack and transport delicate baked items securely to event venues.Set up and maintain pastry stations or dessert buffets on-site. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]Quality & Inventory ManagementInspect ingredient quality to ensure consistency across all baked goods.Monitor inventory levels and order baking supplies and packaging materials as needed.Develop new recipes or seasonal menu items to match culinary trends and catering requests.Sanitation & SafetyMaintain a clean and organized baking workspace.Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, such as HACCP, at all times.Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely, including mixers, proofers, and ovens.Requirements & QualificationsProven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or in a similar role in a high-volume commercial, hospitality, or catering environment.In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and ingredient properties.Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple event orders.Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy items (e.g., flour bags, trays).Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe, HACCP) is highly preferred.
