Founding Engineer (AI / Infrastructure) $180-$220kSan Francisco | On-site | Full-timeOur client is building systems that translate real-world workflows into structured environments to train and evaluate AI models. This is a founding-level role where you will help define and build core product and infrastructure systems from the ground up.What You’ll DoOwn and deliver core product and infrastructure systems end-to-endManage and coordinate coding experts producing data and environments, providing fast feedback and improving output qualityBuild internal platforms and infrastructure that can run and evaluate arbitrary code at scaleTranslate expert and customer workflows into technical systems and training environmentsWork directly with customers to understand use cases and support deployment engineering effortsContribute to product direction, prioritization, and execution strategyWhat We’re Looking For1–5 years of experience in software engineeringStrong backend fundamentals, ideally in Python (FastAPI or similar)Experience building and scaling systems, APIs, or infrastructureAbility to quickly learn new languages, frameworks, and systemsStrong communication skills and ability to manage and give feedback to technical contributorsComfortable operating across engineering, product, and operational workstreamsNice to HaveExperience working with coding data, evaluation systems, or labeling workflowsFamiliarity with modern infrastructure (cloud, distributed systems, containerization)Exposure to AI/ML systems, LLMs, or reinforcement learning conceptsStartup experience, particularly in early-stage (Seed to Series B) environmentsWorking StyleHigh-trust, high-autonomy environment with end-to-end ownershipCollaborative team with open discussion and direct feedbackFast-paced environment with strong emphasis on execution and learning
