Python Developer

We represent an Investment Management firm with offices in NYC that needs to hire a Senior Software Engineer.This position is 3 days a week on-site in midtown Manhattan (potentially moving towards 4)Compensation includes a competitive base salary + annual bonus up to 30% + medical insurance (80% paid) + dental (50% paid) + unlimited PTO + 401(k) Vanguard plan with a 3.5% match up to 6%The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing + supporting their Operations and Back office infrastructure processes. The new hire will be responsible for their Python codebase, SQL databases, and data integrations with Charles River (order management system), Geneva (portfolio accounting system), and proprietary systems for workflow management and performance reporting.This position requires a strong technical background, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced financial environment.Qualifications:• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Python software development.• Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.• Firm understanding of version control, testing and software development best practices.• Possess an understanding of API integrations and data exchange protocols.Preferred:• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.• Familiarity with development across both Windows and Linux operating systems.• Familiarity with automation and scheduling tools and frameworks.• Possess an understanding of financial markets and trading concepts.• Desire to build robust, scalable solutions rather than implement quick fixes.
