OCÉANE’s ultimate goal is to position the GCC as a global trading hub, rivaling financial centers such as New York and London.We are seeking a talented and motivated Quantitative Developer to join our ETF market-making team in Abu Dhabi. This role is ideal for a highly technical professional who enjoys building systems, developing tools, and working closely with traders to optimize execution and strategy performance. You will be instrumental in developing low-latency infrastructure, backtesting frameworks, and data-driven solutions that directly support and enhance trading operations. While prior finance experience is not required, a strong background in software engineering, data processing, and algorithm development is essential. Key ResponsibilitiesTrader Support & Tools: Build, maintain, and improve trading tools, dashboards, and analytics to support real-time decision-making by traders.Strategy Development: Assist traders in the design, testing, and implementation of algorithmic trading strategies for ETF market making.Backtesting & Simulation: Develop robust frameworks to test trading strategies under various market conditions.Data Engineering: Process and analyze large financial datasets to identify signals, improve strategy performance, and support trading decisions.Systems Development: Design and implement scalable and low-latency systems for real-time data ingestion, processing, and execution.Algorithm Maintenance: Monitor, refine, and enhance existing trading algorithms to improve efficiency and reliability.Collaboration: Work directly with traders and quants to translate trading needs into technical solutions.Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, market microstructure, and technology relevant to electronic trading. Qualifications5–10 years of experience in software engineering, quantitative development, or related technical fields.Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Rust, with emphasis on performance and data handling.Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and optimization techniques.Proven experience with large datasets, databases, and distributed computing systems.Experience designing and implementing real-time, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.Familiarity with financial markets, ETFs, or market making is a plus but not mandatory. Preferred SkillsExperience with trading infrastructure, FIX protocol, or low-latency systems.Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, or quantitative finance.Understanding of market microstructure and electronic trading systems.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with traders in a fast-paced environment.
