Senior Software Engineer

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-growing, venture-backed AI startup. You will be a core contributor on a small, high-calibre engineering team building ambitious backend systems from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who thinks deeply about software and wants their work to matter.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and own production Python services handling high-throughput, latency-sensitive workloadsArchitect scalable backend systems with a focus on clean abstractions and long-term maintainabilityContribute across the stack including APIs, data pipelines, infrastructure, and integrationsDrive technical decisions and set a high engineering bar through rigorous code review and architectural inputCollaborate directly with founders and product to shape what gets built and howQualifications6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with time at a larger company and direct exposure to systems operating at significant scaleDeep expertise in Python, with strong opinions on how to write it wellProven experience building and scaling production backend systemsComfort with cloud infrastructure and modern deployment tooling (AWS, Kubernetes, or similar)Based in New York City or San Francisco (no relocation support)Experience with conversational or voice AI systems is a strong plusEarly-stage startup experience is a strong plusThis role is open to US citizens and Green Card holders only.
