Software Engineer

A leading global energy trading organisation is undergoing a major technology transformation and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help modernise and digitalise its core trading technology estate.This is an opportunity to join a high-profile engineering programme focused on rebuilding legacy platforms, introducing modern cloud-native technologies, and leveraging AI-driven tooling to improve engineering and operational workflows.What You'll Be DoingAssessing and modernising existing trading technology platforms.Designing and building scalable cloud-native applications and services.Developing APIs, backend systems, and distributed applications.Contributing to the future-state architecture and technology roadmap.Implementing AI-driven solutions and automation across engineering workflows.Working closely with engineering and platform teams to improve the overall technology ecosystem.Skills & ExperienceStrong software engineering background.Commercial experience with C#/.NET and/or Python.AWS and cloud-native engineering experience.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern software architectures.Strong backend development and API design skills.Experience modernising legacy systems and applications.Exposure to AI/LLM tooling is advantageous.
