Staff Power Electronics Engineer

With patented antenna and amplifier developments in resonant inductive technology, we provide a scalable solution for variable ranges of power and distances. We have multiple automotive, industrial, and space customers for a range of applications, such as wirelessly charging robotic vehicles and vehicle interior electronics.The Staff Power Electronics Engineer will design, analyze, and improve our wireless charging amplifier, DC-DC converter, and AC-DC converter systems for key product verticals that are advancing into production. This role is hands-on and will involve power electronics development along with cross-discipline and cross-functional working with other team members. Reporting to the CTO, this leader will have an early hands-on experience to lead the growth of a startup in the wireless charging ecosystem across a wide range of future products that greatly impact people’s lives.Competitive compensation includes a base salary, healthcare benefits, and stock options in the company.The primary responsibilities of the Staff Power Electronics Engineer are as follows:Lead system-level electrical architecture for key product verticals advancing into productionLead subsystem developments for high-frequency switching power amplifiers, AC/DC, & DC-DC converter tasks for selected projects that are advancing into productionDevelop and implement new circuit designs for new high-power-density DC-DC converters, amplifier configurations, and receiver AC/DC converters based on application specific project requirementsResearch, fabricate, test, analyze, and implement new amplifier configurations for various operational environmentsCollaborate with other engineering team members on EMC/EMI compliance, thermal, manufacturing, and mechanical developments that improve full-system reliability, increase performance, and reduce costRoutinely update the CTO on project status, project improvements, and other recommendationsQualifications Required Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering10+ years of full-time experience in power electronics design5+ years of full-time product development experienceHands-on experience designing, prototyping, analyzing, debugging, and manufacturing power electronics systems in multi-megahertz frequencies using SiC/GaN power semiconductors.Expert in PCB design, EMC/EMI compliance, and thermal analysis for high power electronic systemsExcellent oral and written communicationUS Citizen or US Permanent ResidentAbility to operate in a fast-paced environment, make effective and timely decisions, solve problems, and facilitate organizational and procedural changesPassion for creating a wireless world where the state of your battery is not a concern but a mere afterthoughtQualifications PreferredPhD in Electrical EngineeringPrior experience in automotive, power tools, or aerospace industriesPrior experience designing MHz switching converter designsPrior experience leading other engineering team membersPrior experience at a startup
