The platform captures data from inside the operating room — from devices and video — and integrates it with clinical data from the EMR to create a comprehensive surgical data hub. The platform also produces data analytics and insights for medical device companies, insurers, and other ecosystem players working to innovate and drive the future of healthcare delivery.Your RoleAs a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you'll join a team building quality into a complex, microservices-based surgical intelligence platform. You'll work in an AI-assisted development environment, using agentic coding tools alongside structured specifications and acceptance criteria to drive testing across distributed systems. This role requires the ability to work independently, translate ambiguous requirements into clear test approaches, and maintain rigorous documentation and traceability across manual and automated testing efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain test automation using Python and Playwright across the platformDevelop and maintain BDD-style test suites using frameworks such as pytest-bdd or BehaveWork within AI-assisted or AI-accelerated development workflows, leveraging tools like Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools to support test creation and reviewTranslate structured specifications, requirements, and acceptance criteria into effective test coverageDesign and execute test strategies for microservices-based applications, including API, integration, database, and web application testingTest and validate services running in Kubernetes environments, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelinesCreate and maintain high-quality, repeatable test documentation for both manual and automated testingMaintain strong requirements traceability and defect documentation practicesIndependently design test approaches for complex distributed systemsIdentify ambiguous or incomplete requirements and collaborate with product and engineering teams to clarify expected behaviorMinimum Qualifications7+ years of hands-on QA, test engineering, or quality engineering experienceStrong test automation experience with Python and PlaywrightExperience with BDD frameworks such as pytest-bdd or BehaveProven experience working in an AI-assisted or AI-accelerated software development environmentHands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding toolsExperience using structured specifications, requirements, and acceptance criteria to drive testingStrong experience testing microservices-based applicationsHands-on Kubernetes experience and familiarity with CI/CD in a microservices environmentStrong API, integration, database, and web application testing experienceDemonstrated experience creating and maintaining high-quality, repeatable test documentation for both manual and automated testingStrong requirements traceability and defect documentation practicesAbility to independently design test approaches for complex distributed systemsAbility to identify ambiguous or incomplete requirements and work with product and engineering teams to clarify expected behaviorMust be able to work independently with limited directionBonus QualificationsGoogle Cloud PlatformEdge or on-premises Kubernetes environmentsPostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQLBy applying to this position, you authorize Nortal to collect, store, transfer, and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
