Summary of Responsibilities:The GTB Advisory Data & AI Analyst is a member of the Global Transaction Banking (“GTB”) Advisory team within BBVA’s Corporate & Investment Banking division in New York. GTB Advisory is a multidisciplinary team that supports the broader GTB organization across three core pillars: Working Capital Advisory, Sustainability, and Data & Artificial Intelligence.This Summer Intern position will primarily support the Data & AI pillar. The Summer will work with large and diverse datasets, develop dashboards and analytical tools, develop forecasting and predictive models, automate processes, and help design and implement AI-enabled solutions for GTB. The role requires strong technical and analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, proactivity, and the ability to translate data and technology into practical business insights and solutions.While primarily focused on Data & AI, the Summer Intern will contribute to broader, interdisciplinary GTB Advisory initiatives as needed, including Working Capital Advisory and Sustainability.Main responsibilities:Support with analysis, organization, and interpretation of large and complex datasets from multiple internal and external sourcesAssist with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable insights into GTB business activity, client behavior, product performance, revenues, opportunities, and other relevant performance indicators.Develop forecasting and predictive models using historical and current data to identify trends, anticipate business outcomes, and support business planning and commercial decision-making.Build and maintain analytical workflows, data pipelines, scripts, queries, and applications using SQL, Google Apps Script, Excel, business intelligence platforms (Data Studio, Tableau, etc.), and other relevant technologies. Python is a plus.Develop AI-enabled solutions, leveraging generative AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and other emerging technologies to address business needs and improve existing processes.Partner with GTB product teams and other stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into data, analytics, automation, and AI solutions.Develop prototypes and proofs of concept, evaluate their effectiveness, and help translate successful concepts into practical tools and scalable solutions for GTB.Skills, knowledge, abilities/competencies: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, or another related field.Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets and identify meaningful insights.Python and SQL knowledge is preferred.Advanced proficiency in Excel.Experience with Google Apps Script or comparable scripting and automation technologies is preferred; demonstrated ability to learn new development environments quickly is important.Familiarity with generative AI and AI-enabled development or analytical tools, with an interest in applying them to real business problems.Exposure to machine learning, natural language processing, APIs, cloud-based data environments, or software development is a plus.Experience with financial datasets or knowledge of banking, corporate finance, treasury, or transaction banking is a plusTime management skills and flexibility to operate across multiple functionsProactive/self-starter: ability to perform functions in a timely and accurate mannerAbility to translate complex analytical or technical findings into clear, concise business communication.Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with data, code, financial information, and client or management materials.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected hourly rate is $35/hour. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
