2D/3D Design Manager

Role DescriptionThe 2D/3D Design Manager is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality two-dimensional and three-dimensional design projects. This role combines creative direction, technical coordination, project management, and team leadership to ensure that design concepts are transformed into accurate, visually compelling, and practical deliverables.You will oversee design workflows from initial concepts and visual development through detailed modeling, refinement, documentation, and final delivery. The role requires a strong understanding of both 2D and 3D design principles, attention to detail, and the ability to balance creative objectives with technical and project requirements.Key responsibilities include establishing design standards, reviewing concepts and models, coordinating design activities, and ensuring consistency across project deliverables. You will provide creative and technical guidance to designers while maintaining clear priorities, quality expectations, and project objectives.The Design Manager will collaborate with internal teams, clients, consultants, engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective design solutions. You will coordinate feedback, manage revisions, resolve design issues, and ensure that final outputs meet agreed specifications.You will oversee the preparation and review of 2D drawings, layouts, technical illustrations, presentations, 3D models, renderings, visualizations, and other design assets as required. Strong attention to accuracy, proportion, composition, functionality, and visual quality will be essential.The role will also involve establishing efficient design processes and workflows. You will identify opportunities to improve productivity, standardize documentation, optimize file management, and introduce practical methods that enhance collaboration and delivery.You will monitor design schedules, coordinate priorities, and ensure that deliverables are completed according to project requirements. Where challenges arise, you will work with relevant teams to identify solutions and maintain progress without compromising quality.The Design Manager will contribute to design reviews, presentations, creative discussions, and project planning. You will communicate design decisions clearly and provide constructive feedback that supports continuous improvement across the design team.You will also help maintain organized libraries of design assets, templates, models, drawings, specifications, and other project resources. Ensuring proper version control and documentation will be an important part of maintaining an efficient design environment.Success in this position requires a combination of creative thinking, technical understanding, leadership, communication, and project coordination skills. You should be comfortable managing multiple design priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Design, Architecture, Engineering, Visual Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field.Strong understanding of both 2D and 3D design principles and workflows.Strong visual, technical, and creative problem-solving abilities.Proficiency with relevant 2D and 3D design, modeling, drafting, visualization, or rendering software.Ability to interpret project requirements and translate concepts into accurate design deliverables.Strong understanding of composition, proportion, scale, materials, form, structure, and visual presentation.Ability to review drawings, models, renderings, layouts, and other design outputs with strong attention to detail.Strong leadership and team coordination skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Ability to provide clear, constructive, and practical design feedback.Strong project organization and time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple design tasks, deadlines, revisions, and priorities.Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to identify design issues and develop effective solutions.Understanding of design documentation, file management, version control, and quality standards.Strong presentation skills and confidence communicating design concepts to different audiences.Ability to maintain consistency across multiple design outputs and project phases.Creative, detail-oriented, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset.Familiarity with emerging design technologies, visualization techniques, digital workflows, or AI-assisted design tools is an advantage.Professional certifications or specialized training in design, CAD, 3D modeling, visualization, or related disciplines are considered beneficial.
