We offer a true creative engineering design work environment with a wide range of interesting projects in the bio-pharmaceutical, personal care and food industry.Position:The 3D Mechanical Designer will develop models and produce general arrangement drawings of process equipment, modular process skids, interconnecting piping and facility layouts from P&ID’s, specification sheets, preliminary concepts, sketches and other design inputs.Summary:Working with our Process Engineers, you will be responsible for:3D modelling of process skids, associated piping and miscellaneous equipmentGeneration of general arrangement (GA) drawingsGeneration of P&ID drawingsDevelopment of process room layouts and facility plot plansEffective interpretation and utilization of related design documents and drawings prepared by others, from both internal and external resourcesAssuring compliance with approved design standards to generate quality designOn-site verification of drawing accuracy, as requiredAccurate collection of site measurements and related spatial information, as requiredParticipation in design review meetingsSkills:Expertise in 3D CAD software, including sound design and drafting techniques, knowledge of layer management, XREF manipulation, etc.Understanding of the overall process design workflow, including familiarity with typical engineering deliverablesFamiliarity with ASME BPE standards considered a strong assetFamiliarity with building codes and other relevant regulations considered an assetRequirements:Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant Design Suite or equivalent 3D modeling softwareProficiency with Navisworks Suite (Freedom, Simulate, Manage) or equivalentMinimum 3 years of previous design and drafting experience, inclusive of responsibilities included in the above SummaryPost-secondary diploma or degree in Design, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering/TechnologyStrong written, verbal and communication skills**Application Instructions: Please include both your resume and a portfolio of previous/representative 3D works as a single merged PDF file.
