You’ll own CAD modeling of handbag components, hands-on 3D printing and finishing, and laser cutting support. The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains strong attention to detail, and collaborates well on a team.ResponsibilitiesHardware & Handbag Design DevelopmentReceive and review hardware specifications, identify missing details, and provide estimated completion datesCreate clear, production ready spec sheets for completed models (drawings, dimensions, notes)Model handbag hardware components to spec using RhinoDesign additional features as needed for application and functional requirementsCommunicate clearly and early when issues or delays arise3D Printing & Finishing of HardwareCreate and repair print-ready meshesSelect print materials and orientation based on requirements; place supports for SLA printingBatch, print, wash, and cure componentsRemove supports; sand, finish, and paint prototypes as requiredApply hardware to panels, bags, and SLGs for fit and appearance checks per company standardsDesign DevelopmentTest functionality and make edits quickly; comfortable with multiple iterations per dayBalance aesthetic goals with functional demands and manufacturabilityHW Team OperationsOrganize and archive unused samples; create duplicates for the business portfolio as neededTrack and inventory consumables as used or weeklyMaintain clean workstations and tool organizationMonitor machine and tool health; flag issues earlyShop OperationsAssist with machine troubleshooting as neededDevelop tools, patterns, jigs, and fixtures for sample makers using available fabrication methods (3D printing, laser cutting, and woodshop tools)Support business initiatives during downtime; propose improved organizational tools and workflowsResearch 3D printing materials/technologies and propose new material applicationsQualificationsMust-haveStrong Rhino CAD modeling skills (clean, organized, design-driven modeling; revision speed matters)Hands-on SLA 3D printing workflow (orientation/supports, post-processing)Comfort working in a workshop environment: finishing, tool use, cleanliness/organizationClear communication, reliable follow-through, and ability to own tasks end-to-endNice-to-haveExperience with handbag hardware, small parts, or fashion/accessory product developmentLaser cutting experience (setup, material handling, fast iteration)Familiarity with mesh prep/repair and exporting for printWork StyleFast-paced, iterative prototyping environmentHigh attention to detail with practical decision-making (function and aesthetics)Team-first mindset with independent execution
