Job Summary:3rd Engineer helps run, maintain and repair the vessel's machinery and engineering systems. Keep the engine room safe and efficient and support the vessel's DP and offshore operations. Stand engine room watches, or do day work on UMS (unmanned machinery space) vessels, and are responsible for the equipment assigned to them under the planned maintenance system.Operational Roles and Responsibilities:Stand engine room watches and monitor main and auxiliary machinery, alarms and control systems.Watch keeping duties as defined by the Chief Engineer’s / Second Engineer.Carry out planned and corrective maintenance and record all work in the PMS.Help with fuel, lube oil and fresh water bunkering, transfers and soundings.Keep the engine room logbook, oil record book entries and running-hour records accurate.Report defects, faults and spare-part needs to the 2nd Engineer.Take part in drills, emergency response and safety duties as listed on the muster list.Help with dry-docking, surveys and inspections, including class, flag and client audits.Certification:STCW Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch, III/1 Certificate of CompetencyBasic STCW safety courses, plus Advanced Fire Fighting and Medical First AidValid seafarer's medical certificateOffshore certificates as required: BOSIET/FOET, HUET, H2SAn engineering degree or diploma (marine or mechanical) is an advantage
