Joining AVI-SPL means being part of a transformative journey that connects technology with real human impact.Role Description The A/V Onsite Maintenance Technician II is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for supporting and maintaining audiovisual systems at customer locations. This role includes performing routine inspections, executing preventive maintenance tasks, and completing repairs on A/V equipment such as displays, projectors, control systems, audio processors, and conferencing solutions. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, coordinate with technical teams and vendors for escalations, and ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Daily activities involve documenting service activities, updating maintenance logs, and communicating status and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders. The role also includes assisting with system upgrades, ensuring adherence to safety and company standards, and providing basic user guidance on A/V system operation.Qualifications Ability to perform Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance on audiovisual systems and related hardware.Strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, isolate, and resolve system faults and performance issues.Experience with Maintenance & Repair tasks for A/V and related technical equipment.Background in Industrial Maintenance or similar technical environments supporting complex systems.Knowledge of AV components such as DSPs, control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX), displays, and conferencing platforms.Comfort working on-site with customers, including professional communication and customer service skills.Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.Relevant technical certification or vocational training in electronics, audiovisual technology, or a related field preferred.Capability to lift and install A/V equipment as required, and to follow safety and compliance standards.Prior experience in an AV support, field service, or facilities maintenance role is highly beneficial.
