Indian Abacus enables students to apply their acquired knowledge across different areas of their lives.Role Description The Abacus Tutor role at Indian Abacus is a full-time, on-site position based in Vandavasi. The tutor will conduct structured Abacus classes for children aged 5 to 13, following the company’s established curriculum and teaching methodology. Daily tasks include demonstrating the use of digital and non-digital abacus tools, guiding students through practice exercises, and monitoring their progress in mental arithmetic and concentration skills. The tutor will prepare lesson plans, maintain classroom discipline, provide regular feedback to students and guardians, and participate in assessments and examinations. The role also involves collaborating with the center’s team to organize student activities, workshops, and events that support continuous learning.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong teaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to engage young learners and manage a classroom effectively.Candidates should possess clear communication skills in English and local language, with the ability to explain concepts in simple, child-friendly terms.Candidates should possess basic numerical and analytical skills, with comfort in arithmetic operations and mental calculation.Candidates should possess patience, empathy, and a learner-centered approach, with a genuine interest in working with children.Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, including lesson planning, record keeping, and progress tracking.A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree or coursework in education, psychology, or child development is an added advantage.Prior experience as a tutor or teacher, especially in Abacus or after-school learning programs, is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.Ability to work on-site in Vandavasi and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
