Team members work within a framework aligned with international standards in English language education.Role Description The Academic Coordinator is responsible for overseeing academic programs, timetables, and curriculum delivery in alignment with Cambridge English exam requirements. This full-time, on-site role in Matugama includes coordinating teaching schedules, supporting instructors, and ensuring lesson plans meet academic standards. The Academic Coordinator monitors student progress, organizes assessment activities, and maintains accurate academic records. The role involves communicating with parents and learners regarding academic performance, addressing academic concerns, and assisting with exam registration and related documentation. The Academic Coordinator also contributes to training and mentoring teaching staff, implementing quality assurance processes, and supporting continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.Qualifications Strong academic coordination and organizational skills, including scheduling, record-keeping, and curriculum planning.Experience in English language education or exam preparation, ideally with familiarity with Cambridge English exams and related assessment standards.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and teaching staff.Ability to provide academic guidance, monitor learner progress, and implement student support strategies.Competence in basic IT tools for educational administration (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, learning management systems).Proven ability to work independently on-site, manage multiple tasks, and meet academic deadlines.Relevant academic qualifications in English, Education, or a related field; a teaching or coordinating background is an advantage.Experience in a school or language institute setting and knowledge of quality assurance in education is beneficial.
