The college specializes in preparing learners from the age of five for a range of Cambridge English Exams. The environment emphasizes quality teaching, standardized assessment, and continuous improvement in English language proficiency.Role Description The Academic Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Kalutara. The individual in this role will oversee academic programs, coordinate Cambridge exam preparation classes, and support teachers with curriculum implementation and lesson planning. Daily responsibilities include scheduling classes, monitoring student progress, organizing assessments, and ensuring alignment with Cambridge English standards and British Council requirements. The Academic Coordinator will also provide academic advising to learners and families, support teacher development, maintain academic records, and collaborate with management to improve teaching quality and student outcomes.Qualifications Strong background in Education and experience in academic program coordination.Demonstrated skills in Curriculum Development and aligning course content with Cambridge English exam requirements.Excellent Communication abilities for interacting with students, families, teachers, and external partners.Experience in Academic Advising, including guiding learners through exam pathways and learning plans.Ability to conduct and apply Research to improve teaching methods, materials, and exam preparation strategies.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field; teaching or CELTA/TEFL/TESOL certification is an advantage.Experience working in an exam preparation or language training environment, preferably with Cambridge English programs.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with basic office and learning management software.Commitment to learner-centered education and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural academic setting.
