The college specializes in preparing learners from the age of five onward for a wide range of Cambridge English exams. It offers structured programs, comprehensive guidance, and targeted training to help students achieve strong exam results. The learning environment emphasizes high-quality teaching, internationally recognized standards, and continuous improvement of academic outcomes.Role Description The Academic Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Matugama. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising academic programs aligned with Cambridge English exam requirements. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating class schedules, supporting instructors with lesson planning, ensuring curriculum delivery meets examination standards, and overseeing student progress tracking and reporting. The Academic Coordinator will also communicate regularly with parents and guardians, provide academic advising to learners, and collaborate with management to maintain quality assurance and compliance with Cambridge and British Council guidelines. Additional responsibilities may include organizing academic workshops, maintaining records, and contributing to staff training and development.Qualifications Strong background in Education and experience working in a school, language institute, or exam preparation center.Proficiency in Curriculum Development, including designing, reviewing, and aligning course materials with Cambridge English exam requirements.Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, families, and academic staff in a professional manner.Experience in Academic Advising, supporting learners with exam preparation plans, study strategies, and progression pathways.Ability to conduct and apply Research to improve teaching methods, learning resources, and academic outcomes.Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field; Cambridge English teaching or coordination experience is an advantage.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple classes and schedules.Competence in using basic office software and digital tools for record-keeping, reporting, and academic planning.Commitment to learner-centered education, ethical conduct, and inclusive, non-discriminatory academic practices.
