Applicants will join a team committed to high academic standards and continuous learner progress.Role Description The Academic Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Galle. This role involves overseeing academic programs, coordinating class schedules, and ensuring that the curriculum aligns with Cambridge English exam requirements. Daily tasks include supporting teachers with lesson planning, monitoring student progress, organizing assessments, and maintaining academic records. The Academic Coordinator will communicate regularly with learners, caregivers, and staff to address academic concerns and provide guidance. The role also includes contributing to academic quality assurance, supporting training initiatives, and assisting with research and development of new learning materials.Qualifications Strong background in Education, with experience in academic administration or coordination in a school or language institute setting.Skills in Curriculum Development and familiarity with exam-focused or standards-based instructional design.Excellent Communication abilities, including clear written and verbal communication with learners, caregivers, and staff.Experience in Academic Advising, student guidance, or learner support services.Ability to conduct and apply Research to improve teaching methods, assessment practices, and academic programs.Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications or teaching certifications (e.g., CELTA, TESOL) are an advantage.Understanding of Cambridge English exams and related standards is highly beneficial.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple academic activities simultaneously.Proficiency in basic IT tools for scheduling, record-keeping, and online academic resources.
