Established in partnership with the island government of St Vincent and a consortium of medical educators and physicians from the United States and Europe, SJSM has been providing medical education since 2001. The school’s programs are designed to be fully compatible with U.S. medical school basic science and clinical rotation standards, as well as NMC guidelines in India. SJSM places emphasis on meeting these requirements, giving students a strong foundation for licensure and future medical practice, in the US and India. SJSM's campus is located in St Vincent (Caribbean) and the Head office is in Chicago, USA. This position is a full-time position in the SJSM India Office in Kolkata, India.Role Description The Academic Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, organization, and delivery of academic programs at Saint James School of Medicine. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating course schedules, assisting with curriculum implementation, and maintaining accurate academic records. The Academic Coordinator will communicate regularly with faculty, students, and administrative staff to address academic inquiries, support course logistics, and ensure alignment with institutional policies. Additional responsibilities may include supporting academic advising processes, organizing online academic events or meetings, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for teaching and learning.This is a full-time on-site role located in Kolkata, India. QualificationsBackground in medical education and experience working in academic or higher education settings.Ability to contribute to Curriculum Development and support implementation of academic programs.Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.Experience in Academic Advising or student support servicesResearch skills for gathering, analysing, and presenting academic or program-related information.Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.Comfort with learning management systems and collaborative online tools.Computer skills such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Workspace.Ability to work independently and in a team environmentDegree: MBBS degree or equivalent, from a medical college in India or overseasInternational Medical graduates preparing for FMGE or NEET PG welcome to applyFamiliarity with examinations such as FMGE, USMLE is a plus Salary 28000 per month, negotiableWorkdays Monday to Friday
