The Academic Counsellor will guide students in selecting appropriate academic paths, programs, and courses based on their interests, strengths, and goals. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, providing information on educational options, and supporting students in developing study plans and learning strategies. The role involves collaborating with faculty and administrative staff to monitor student progress, organizing workshops or information sessions on academic and career topics, and maintaining accurate records of counseling interactions. The Academic Counsellor will also communicate regularly with students and families, respond to queries, and contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in making informed academic decisions.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with students, families, faculty, and staff.Candidates should possess solid Career Counseling skills to help students explore education pathways aligned with long-term career goals.Candidates should possess a background in Education or related fields to understand academic systems, curricula, and learning processes.Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline.Additional beneficial skills include empathy, active listening, documentation and organizational abilities, and familiarity with educational counseling tools.Prior experience in academic or career counseling, student services, or school/university administration is highly advantageous.
