The organization also partners with hiring companies to support learners in transitioning into the professional world and closing the skills gap in engineering graduates.Role Description The Academic Counselor at Tap Academy will work on-site in Mysore in a full-time capacity, supporting learners throughout their educational journey. Day-to-day responsibilities include counseling prospective and current students on course options, program requirements, and academic pathways. The role involves guiding learners on career opportunities in the IT sector, helping them choose appropriate training in line with their goals and market trends. The Academic Counselor will monitor student progress, provide academic advising, and coordinate with trainers and support teams to address academic or motivational challenges. The role also includes conducting information sessions, maintaining accurate student records, and contributing to initiatives that enhance learner engagement, satisfaction, and outcomes.Qualifications Strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners through their educational journey.Effective Communication skills, including active listening and clear, empathetic speaking and writing.Career Counseling and Education-related skills to guide students toward suitable IT and tech career paths.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Management, or a related field.Experience in academic counseling, student support, or career services, preferably in an Ed-Tech or higher education setting.Familiarity with IT and software industry roles and learning pathways (e.g., programming, full stack development, data science).Ability to build trust with diverse learners, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate documentation.Proficiency with digital tools and learning management systems, and a collaborative approach to working with trainers and operations teams.
