Academic President / University Academic Leader

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary academic leader with a proven track record in university leadership, academic excellence, and institutional development. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction for academic affairs, strengthen academic quality and research, develop faculty capabilities, and drive the university’s growth and international reputation.The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in university-level leadership, a strong understanding of international higher education standards, and the ability to lead a diverse academic community in a competitive global education environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership for academic affairs, ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, research, and student outcomes.Lead the development and implementation of academic strategies aligned with the university’s vision and long-term objectives.Oversee academic programmes, curriculum development, faculty performance, assessment, and academic standards.Drive research development, scholarly activities, industry engagement, and international academic collaborations.Lead academic quality assurance, institutional reviews, accreditation processes, and regulatory compliance.Strengthen faculty recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning.Monitor academic KPIs, student progression, retention, graduate outcomes, and overall institutional performance.Support the development of new academic programmes and initiatives in line with market demand and institutional strategy.Collaborate with the Board, senior management, deans, department heads, and external stakeholders to achieve institutional objectives.Promote innovation, academic integrity, continuous improvement, and a culture of excellence across the university.Qualifications and ExperiencePhD or equivalent terminal qualification in a relevant academic discipline.Minimum 10–15 years of experience in higher education, including substantial senior academic leadership experience at the level of Dean, Associate Dean, Provost, Vice President for Academic Affairs, or an equivalent university leadership position.Demonstrated success in leading academic strategy, institutional development, and university-wide academic operations.Strong knowledge of international higher education standards, accreditation frameworks, academic governance, and quality assurance.A proven record of academic achievement, research development, faculty leadership, and institutional improvement.Experience in international universities and multicultural academic environments.Excellent strategic planning, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.Preferred Candidate ProfileExperience in UK, European, North American, or other internationally recognised higher education systems.A strong track record of university-level leadership and measurable institutional achievements.Experience in developing international partnerships, expanding academic offerings, and strengthening institutional reputation.Familiarity with UAE higher education regulations and accreditation requirements will be an advantage.
