Academic Support – Lab Associate

Position Title: Lab Associate Department: School of Engineering and Technology Reports To: Program Chair Position Overview: The University invites applications for the position of Lab Associate. The incumbent will support teaching, laboratory activities and projects in computer Science, Data Science, AI &ML. The role involves assisting faculty and students with experiments, projectsKey Responsibilities:Assist faculty and students during lab sessions, practical exercises, and academic projects across various areas, including:Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP)Reinforcement LearningWeb Frameworks and Big Data Frameworks (BDF)Cloud ComputingData Visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BIData Structures and Analysis of AlgorithmsDatabase Management Systems (DBMS), Operating Systems, and Computer NetworkingArtificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT)Programming Languages and Technologies including Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, React, and SQLMaintain and manage laboratory equipment, software tools, computing resources, and technical infrastructure.Develop and maintain documentation for lab procedures, technical analyses, experiments, and project outcomes.Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and students to provide technical support and resolve challenges related to academic projects and research activities.Support the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies and technology-driven learning initiatives.Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning domains.Required Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related discipline.Strong programming skills in Python, R, Java, SQL, C, C++, or other relevant programming languages.Proficiency in web frameworks, cloud technologies, data visualization tools, and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) techniques.Good understanding of predictive analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) fundamentals, Machine Learning concepts, and cloud computing technologies.Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, database management systems (DBMS), and big data frameworks.Ability to support technical problem-solving, academic projects, and hands-on learning environments.Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and students.Experience:0–3 years of relevant experience in university laboratories, research environments, academic projects, or technical roles is desirable.Fresh graduates with strong technical skills and interest in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science may also be considered.Core Competencies:Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in an academic environment.Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in laboratory operations and technical support.Good written and verbal communication skills for documentation, reporting, and coordination with faculty, researchers, and students.Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and tools in Computer Science, AI, and related domains.Regards,HR TeamVIdyashilp University
