The team values professionalism, discretion, and high-quality educational support in all client interactions.Role Description This is a full-time Academic Tutor role based in Singapore with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for both in-person sessions and some work from home. The Academic Tutor will provide private classes to school-age learners, primarily in mathematics and related subjects, following agreed curricula and learning goals. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering lessons, assigning and reviewing practice work, monitoring progress, and adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual needs. The tutor will communicate regularly with learners and families about performance, provide guidance on study habits, and support preparation for assessments and admissions-related milestones. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of sessions, collaborating with the broader Scion Development team, and upholding high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.Qualifications Strong tutoring and teaching abilities, with experience providing Private Classes and individualized Tutoring support.Solid academic background in Education and taught subjects, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, accessible ways.Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to engage learners, provide constructive feedback, and liaise professionally with families.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sciences, Languages, Mathematics, or a related field preferred; relevant teaching or tutoring certifications are an advantage.Mandarin is a plusDemonstrated experience working with school-age learners in an academic or tutoring setting, ideally in competitive or high-performance environments.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan lessons, track progress, and manage multiple learners’ schedules.Comfort with hybrid work, including occasionally conducting online sessions using digital tools and maintaining professional standards both in-person and remotely.Commitment to learner-centered teaching, discretion, and maintaining a high level of professionalism with high net-worth families.
