Scion Development operates in Singapore and offers personalized guidance tailored to each learner’s strengths and areas for growth.Role Description The Academic Tutor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Singapore, with a mix of in-person sessions at students’ homes or agreed locations and some work-from-home responsibilities. In this role, the tutor delivers customized 1-on-1 academic support across relevant subjects and levels, designs lesson plans aligned with learners’ goals, and tracks progress through regular assessments and feedback. The tutor collaborates with the wider strategic team to align tuition with admissions objectives and broader development plans. Day-to-day activities include preparing educational materials, conducting engaging lessons, communicating with families about student performance, and serving as a positive role model who supports both academic excellence and personal growth.Qualifications Studied in Singapore Strong tutoring and private class facilitation skills, with experience delivering personalized 1-on-1 support.Solid foundation in education practices, including curriculum understanding and learner-centered teaching methods.Proficiency in teaching subject and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly across different academic levels.Excellent communication skills, including active listening, clear explanation, and constructive feedback to learners and families.Demonstrated academic achievement (e.g., top cohort performance or equivalent) and experience mentoring or coaching students.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage schedules across multiple learners, and maintain organized lesson records.Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting students’ academic and personal development.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred; prior private tutoring experience in Singapore is an advantage.
