alternatives are unavailable or unsuitable.Job Purpose / About the RoleThe role combines strategic account management with commercial sales activity, supporting long-term healthcare customer relationships across NHS hospitals, private healthcare providers and pharmacy customers whilst helping deliver specialist pharmaceutical supply solutions where appropriate.Working closely with the Head of Unlicensed Medicines & Business Development, you will be responsible for growing existing healthcare accounts, understanding recurring customer requirements, supporting customer access to specialist pharmaceutical solutions and contributing to the development of Qmed's imported medicines portfolio.Whilst the primary focus is account growth and customer development, the role will also identify and pursue new commercial opportunities across NHS hospitals, private healthcare providers and pharmacy customers, particularly during periods of medicines shortages or supply disruption.A key objective of the role is to develop long-term strategic customer partnerships, maximise customer value through proactive account management and support the continued development of Qmed's specialist pharmaceutical offering through ethical, responsive and compliant supply solutions.As Qmed continues to expand its specialist medicines portfolio, this role offers the opportunity to develop into a broader strategic account management position supporting multiple pharmaceutical product portfolios and long-term healthcare partnerships.Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management & Customer DevelopmentDevelop and grow existing NHS hospitals, private healthcare providers and pharmacy accounts by supporting continuity of supply through appropriate specialist pharmaceutical solutions, including imported unlicensed medicines where clinically required and licensed alternatives are unavailable or unsuitable.Develop strategic account growth plans for assigned customers, identifying opportunities across specialist pharmaceutical supply solutions where appropriate.Build long-term commercial relationships with Pharmacy Procurement Teams, Chief Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and other key healthcare stakeholders.Develop an understanding of recurring customer requirements and support sustainable long-term supply arrangements where clinically appropriate and commercially viable.Identify opportunities to increase customer lifetime value through cross-selling, portfolio expansion and proactive account development.Deliver exceptional customer service and become a trusted commercial partner for healthcare providers.Act as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries and account management activities.Sales & Business DevelopmentIdentify and develop commercial opportunities across existing and new NHS hospitals, private clinics and pharmacy customers.Support healthcare providers during medicines shortages and supply disruptions through appropriate pharmaceutical supply solutions.Support the continued development of Qmed's specialist medicines portfolio by identifying unmet customer requirements and opportunities for sustainable supply solutions.Achieve agreed sales and profitability targets through effective account management and customer development.Support wider commercial strategies designed to strengthen customer relationships and increase market share.Support existing customer growth through proactive identification of new product opportunities and specialist supply solutions.Product & Market IntelligenceWork closely with Procurement to identify unmet customer requirements and specialist medicines that support continuity of supply.Monitor market trends, competitor activity and medicines shortages.Identify opportunities for new imported products based on customer demand and supply gaps.Provide commercial feedback to support sourcing decisions and portfolio development.Capture customer feedback and market intelligence to support new product development and future portfolio expansion initiatives.Operational & Commercial SupportOversee customer orders from enquiry through to fulfilment, ensuring excellent communication and customer service throughout the process.Maintain accurate CRM records and customer account information.Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements relating to imported unlicensed medicines.Collaborate with Procurement, QA, Regulatory, Sales Operations and Commercial teams to deliver efficient customer service and pharmaceutical supply solutions.Reporting & PerformanceMonitor account performance and commercial trends.Produce regular sales and account reports.Identify opportunities to improve customer retention, portfolio penetration and long-term customer value.Support data-driven commercial decision making.Maintain account development plans and customer growth strategies.Key SkillsExcellent relationship management and collaboratively within a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.ExperienceMinimum two years' experience within pharmaceutical sales, healthcare distribution, account management or a customer-facing commercial role.Experience working with NHS hospitals, private healthcare providers or pharmacy customers desirable.Experience developing long-term customer relationships and growing existing accounts through consultative selling and commercial account management.Understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains and healthcare procurement processes advantageous.Nice to HaveExperience within imported unlicensed medicines.Experience working with NHS Hospital Pharmacy Departments or Procurement Teams.Understanding of medicines shortages and pharmaceutical sourcing.Experience within pharmaceutical
