Accountant-Audit Background

Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong background in audit and Business Setup operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on accounting experience and a good understanding of financial processes within a UAE Business Setup, company formation, or corporate services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entriesPrepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedulesPerform bank, customer, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliationsHandle invoicing, payment processing, receipts, and expense recordingMonitor receivables and payables and follow up on outstanding paymentsAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesSupport internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules, working papers, and required documentationCoordinate with auditors and respond to audit queriesReview financial transactions and identify discrepancies or control issuesMaintain proper financial records and ensure compliance with accounting proceduresSupport VAT and Corporate Tax-related accounting and documentationWork closely with the Business Setup team to ensure accurate recording of company formation, licensing, government service, and related transactionsReconcile client accounts and ensure proper allocation of payments and service chargesReview revenue and expenses related to Business Setup servicesAssist in preparing financial reports related to Business Setup operationsEnsure all financial documents are properly maintained and available for audit purposesRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 1 years of experience in a senior accounting roleProficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standardsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial dataDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skillsEffective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholdersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentBenefitsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAEPrevious audit experience is requiredExperience in Business Setup, company formation, corporate services, or government services is highly preferredStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reportingGood understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate TaxExperience with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similarAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyGood communication and coordination skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExperience dealing with auditors and preparing audit documentationPreferred ExperienceExperience in a Business Setup / Corporate Services companyPrevious experience in an audit firmUAE accounting experienceACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent qualification is an advantageKnowledge of company formation and government-related service transactions is an advantage
