Accountant

A financial platform based in Abu Dhabi (ADGM) and regulated by FSRA (3A license) is seeking to hire an accountant. The platform specializes in custody, global markets execution/trading, as well as advisory/asset management services for professional and institutional clients.Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including monthly close, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.Prepare statutory financial statements, regulatory financial returns and monthly management reports.Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Prepare and submit VAT, corporate tax and other tax filings, where applicable.Maintain bank, client money and custody reconciliations, where applicable.Manage invoicing, payment processing and cash management.Maintain the fixed asset register and related accounting records.Coordinate the annual external audit and liaise with auditors, regulators and service providers.Qualifications:Minimum five years of financial industry experience, with at least two years in a brokerage firm or similar specialized in Financial Markets tradingBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.ACCA, CPA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.Experience with ADGM or DIFC regulatory reporting requirements is highly desirable.Strong understanding of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, Equities, FX, REPOs) and demonstrable experience in supporting those products from accounting sideIT savvy with practical experience in leveraging technology to improve accounting processes, including workflow automation, process optimisation and the effective use of accounting and productivity softwareStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities.
