Accountant

Located in the West End, this company continues to expand its market share by delivering exceptional service, advice and expertise to their clients. With the ongoing growth and solid business strategy in place, they are seeking a skilled Accountant to join their business.Reporting to the Directors and working closely with the company's external Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for the day to day accounting functions ensuring integrity in the numbers and accurate and timely reporting.Key responsibilities:Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivableProcess invoices, payments, and expense claims in a timely mannerReconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accountsPrepare and process payroll, including superannuation and leave entitlementsAssist with BAS/IAS preparation and lodgementMonitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecastingMaintain and update the general ledger and chart of accountsPrepare financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheetsLiaise with the external AccountantAssist with month-end and year-end closing processesIdentify and resolve discrepancies in financial recordsSupport management with ad hoc financial tasks and process improvementThis role requires a high level of technical knowledge, the ability to problem solve and previous experience working on MYOB.
