Accountant – Smart Elite Iraq Operations📍 Location: Dubai, UAE💰 Salary: AED 5,000–8,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications📅 Working Days: Saturday–Thursday🏠 Sunday: Work from Home✈️ Occasional travel: IraqAbout Smart EliteSmart Elite is a wholesale distributor of mobile phone accessories in Iraq, serving both B2B customers and B2C customers through our online store.We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Accountant to join our Dubai team and oversee the accounting, sales reporting, and financial monitoring of our Iraq operations.The role will work closely with our Iraq-based team on a daily basis and will be responsible for ensuring that sales, expenses, inventory-related information, and financial records are accurately entered, monitored, and reported to management.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial ManagementMaintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for our Iraq operations.Enter and monitor daily expenses and financial transactions.Review and reconcile sales, cash, bank transactions, expenses, and other financial records.Review invoices, payments, expenses, and supporting documentation.Assist with month-end closing and preparation of financial reports.Identify discrepancies, errors, or unusual transactions and follow up with the relevant teams.Prepare financial reports and ad-hoc analysis for management.Sales Reporting & AnalysisMonitor and verify daily sales entries from the Iraq team.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports for management.Analyze sales performance by product, category, channel, and customer type.Identify best-selling and slow-moving products.Provide management with clear insights into sales trends and business performance.Use sales data to support purchasing and inventory decisions.Inventory & Purchasing SupportMonitor stock levels and product sales velocity.Identify when additional stock needs to be ordered based on sales performance.Analyze product lead times and sales trends to help determine appropriate reorder timing.Work with the Iraq team to ensure inventory and sales records are accurate.Highlight potential stock shortages or overstock situations to management.Iraq OperationsCommunicate daily with the Iraq-based team regarding sales, expenses, inventory, and accounting matters.Follow up when information is missing, delayed, or inconsistent.Occasionally travel to Iraq to review and verify accounting, sales, inventory, and operational processes.Assist management in improving financial controls and reporting procedures.ERP & SystemsPrevious experience using ERP/accounting systems is required.Experience with ERPNext is preferred.We currently use ERPNext for accounting and business operations.Training on ERPNext will be provided upon joining. The system is straightforward and easy to navigate, but candidates should be comfortable learning and working with ERP systems.Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.Experience in trading, wholesale, distribution, retail, or FMCG is strongly preferred.Experience working with inventory and sales data.Previous experience with an ERP/accounting system.Strong Excel skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Fluent Arabic and English communication skills.Comfortable communicating with a team based in Iraq on a daily basis.Willingness and ability to travel to Iraq occasionally.Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with ERPNext.Experience in mobile phone accessories, electronics, consumer goods, or similar distribution businesses.Experience working with businesses with both B2B and B2C sales channels.Experience with inventory analysis, purchasing, and stock management.Knowledge of Iraqi accounting, tax, or financial requirements.ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent qualification is a plus, but not mandatory.What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is accurate, trustworthy, organized, and commercially minded.The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with numbers but also understand what those numbers mean for the business.
