Company Description We are a Dubai-based fit-out and interiors contractor seeking an accountant to manage the day-to-day finance function.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day bookkeeping and month-end closeHandle accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and subcontractor reconciliationsMonitor project-level cash flow and working capital requirementsPrepare and file UAE VAT returns (FTA compliance)Maintain WIP schedules and apply percentage-of-completion accounting across active projectsManage retention accounting and subcontractor payment cyclesPrepare accounts for year-end audit and liaise with external auditorsProcess payroll through WPSLiaise with project managers and procurement to ensure financial data reflects site activity accuratelyTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of UAE VAT (FTA filing, input/output VAT, reverse charge on imports)Project accounting, WIP accounting and percentage-of-completion methodology — essential for this roleRetention accounting and subcontractor payment cycle managementProficiency in Excel, including SUMIFS, pivot tables and financial modelingExperience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks or SAP B1WPS payroll processingSoft SkillsSelf-starter, able to work with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detailEffective communicator, comfortable liaising with project managers and site teamsAble to work with incomplete or evolving information and follow up proactivelyDiscretion, given exposure to cash flow and margin data across all live projectsSound judgement and ability to escalate issues appropriatelyQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally within construction, contracting or fit-out; general SME accounting experience is acceptable provided the candidate can quickly adapt to project accountingACCA or CMA (part-qualified or in progress) is an advantage, not a requirementArabic language skills are useful but not mandatory
