Location: UAECompany: Bookra SolutionsEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout Bookra SolutionsBookra Solutions is a growing technology company providing small and medium-sized businesses with an integrated platform for business management, POS, accounting, invoicing, and tax compliance.We are looking for an experienced and proactive Accountant to join our team and support both our internal financial operations and the continued development of our accounting platform.Role OverviewThe Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting tax and regulatory compliance, preparing financial reports, and assisting with the accounting requirements of the business.Because Bookra is an accounting and business-management technology platform, the role will also work closely with our product and management teams to ensure that accounting workflows within the system are practical, accurate, and aligned with the needs of UAE businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.Support budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial planning.Prepare and review VAT calculations, VAT returns, and supporting documentation.Support UAE Corporate Tax compliance and related accounting requirements.Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with UAE regulations.Assist management with financial analysis and business performance reporting.Review customer accounting workflows and provide guidance on best accounting practices.Support customers when needed with accounting setup, chart of accounts, VAT configuration, invoicing, and financial reporting.Work with the product and development teams to review accounting features and workflows within the Bookra platform.Identify opportunities to improve accounting automation, reports, reconciliation processes, and financial controls within the platform.Help test new accounting and financial features before release.Stay informed about changes to UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, e-invoicing, and accounting regulations.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Practical accounting or bookkeeping experience.Strong understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles.Good knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.Experience using accounting software or ERP systems.Strong Excel skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate accounting concepts clearly to non-accounting colleagues and customers.Comfortable working in a growing technology/startup environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience in one or more of the following would be an advantage:Accounting software, ERP, POS, or SaaS companies.UAE SME accounting.FTA VAT and Corporate Tax processes.Retail, restaurants, trading companies, or service businesses.Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, Odoo, Tally, or similar accounting platforms.UAE e-invoicing requirements.ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA, or similar professional accounting qualification.What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is not only comfortable preparing accounts, but also understands how businesses actually use accounting systems.The ideal candidate is curious, technology-friendly, detail-oriented, and interested in helping us build a platform that makes accounting and financial management easier for small businesses.Why Join Bookra Solutions?You will have the opportunity to join Bookra at an early stage and have a direct impact on both the financial operations of the company and the development of an accounting platform used by businesses across the UAE.You will work closely with management, technology, and customers, with significant opportunity to grow as the company expands.
