Founded in Singapore in 2014, we've grown into a group with entities across Hong Kong, Dubai, Malaysia, and Canada.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the company's accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including month-end closing and full-set accounting, with meticulous attention to detail.This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You will work across multiple entities and multiple currencies, and because we are a licensed fintech dealing in remittance, FX and deposits, the role sits close to a live set of regulatory obligations. You will also work closely with our reconciliation team, who support the bookkeeping process, so reconciliation experience is genuinely valued here.The ideal candidate should be able to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, work effectively under pressure, demonstrate a positive attitude, and have a strong interest in process improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting operations and month-end closeManage the full spectrum of accounting functions across multiple entities within the group, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingPerform month-end closing activities, including maintaining the general ledger, posting journals, bank reconciliations, and preparing schedules for accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and fixed assetsPrepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary the business can act onWork closely with the reconciliation team to keep the books clean and audit-readyReview the work of the Junior Accountant and Reconciliation Specialist before it is posted to the ledgerMulti-entity and multi-currencyPrepare group consolidation, including intercompany elimination and agreement of balances across entitiesHandle FX revaluation, retranslation of foreign currency balances, and realised and unrealised FX reportingMaintain a consistent chart of accounts and consistent accounting treatment across entitiesReporting, tax and auditPrepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (SFRS)Prepare and submit GST reporting and filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory deadlinesPrepare corporate tax computations with our tax agentPrepare audit schedules, own the audit file, and liaise with external auditors as the primary point of contactSupport ACRA filings and corporate secretarial requirementsAssist with budgeting and forecasting activities as requiredRegulatory supportSupport the preparation of regulatory reports and submissions in line with our licensing obligationsSupport safeguarding and customer-funds reporting, and the controls that sit around itPayments, expenses and processProcess and review staff claims and expense reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policyIdentify inefficiencies in existing accounting processes and implement technology and automation solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiencyMaintain accounting policy and process documentation that another person could followMaintain meticulous attention to detail in all accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial dataCollaborate effectively with team members, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharingPerform other ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as assignedQualifications and RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related disciplineA professional accounting qualification — CPA, ISCA (CA Singapore), ACCA, or equivalent. This is a requirement for this role.Minimum 3 – 4 years of relevant experience in full-set accounting, ideally across multiple entitiesExperience preparing for and managing external auditsStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to apply them in a dynamic business environmentProficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks is an advantageStrong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to workStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in process improvement and automationGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and to explain a number clearly to someone who is not an accountantPositive attitude, resilience, and a proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently under pressureExposure to multi-entity consolidation, multi-currency accounting, or high-volume transaction data is an advantage
