Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Dubai and take responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and financial record-keeping of the business.The role will involve maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, recording daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, payments and receipts, performing bank and account reconciliations, maintaining supporting documentation, and assisting with monthly and year-end closing activities.The Accountant will also be responsible for preparing VAT records and supporting VAT filings, maintaining proper accounting documentation for audit and tax purposes, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports and schedules.The successful candidate should be comfortable working with ERP/accounting systems and have strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is highly preferred, while experience with other ERP or accounting platforms will also be considered.The role requires a detail-oriented, organized and responsible individual who can ensure that accounting records are maintained accurately and on a daily basis.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily bookkeeping and accounting entriesAccounts payable and accounts receivableSales and purchase invoice processingPayment and receipt entriesBank and account reconciliationsExpense recording and allocationMaintenance of customer and supplier ledgersVAT record preparation and support with VAT filingAssistance with month-end and year-end closingPreparation of accounting schedules and reportsMaintaining complete supporting documentation for transactionsSupporting external auditors and tax advisers when requiredEnsuring accounting records remain accurate and up to dateRequirementsDegree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldPrevious accounting experience in the UAE preferredGood knowledge of accounting principlesUnderstanding of UAE VAT requirementsStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with ERP/accounting softwareMicrosoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a strong advantageGood attention to detail and organizational skillsGood written and verbal communication skills
