Accountant
The accountant will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, payroll, tax compliance, project costing, management reporting and audit support.The role requires a proactive professional who can work independently, make sound financial decisions and meet strict deadlines. The candidate must have strong knowledge of ZATCA, VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, GOSI, Mudad/WPS, Qawaem, Saudi Business Centre, e-invoicing and other accounting and finance requirements related to Saudi government authorities.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Setup, Reporting & Controls
- Establish the chart of accounts, accounting system, opening balances and financial reporting structure.
- Develop accounting procedures, month-end checklists, approval workflows and document controls.
- Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and supporting records.
- Manage customer invoicing, collections, supplier and subcontractor payments, employee advances and petty cash.
- Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable ageing reports and follow up outstanding balances.
- Perform bank, balance-sheet, supplier, customer, payroll and intercompany reconciliations.
- Complete monthly and year-end closing, including accruals, provisions, prepayments and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow and management reports.
- Prepare annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and variance analysis.
- Prepare payment documentation and ensure all required management approvals are obtained.
- Maintain complete, accurate and audit-ready accounting records.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit queries.
- Coordinate with the Megarme UAE finance team and support management with ad hoc reports.Project Accounting & Controls
- Set up and maintain project cost codes, approved budgets and billing schedules.
- Review project commercial terms, payment milestones, retention and advance-payment conditions.
- Track manpower, payroll, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs by project.
- Reconcile employee timesheets and allocate payroll costs to the correct projects.
- Prepare WIP, progress billing, retention, cost-to-complete and project margin reports.
- Monitor variation orders, unapproved works, contract assets, contract liabilities, advances and unbilled revenue.
- Reconcile project revenue and costs in accordance with IFRS requirements.
- Monitor project profitability and report actual or forecast cost overruns.
- Track bank guarantees, performance bonds, advance-payment guarantees and insurance-related financial records.
- Reconcile related-party transactions and balances with Megarme UAE.KSA Tax, Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT returns and VAT reconciliations.
- Ensure ZATCA-compliant e-invoices, credit notes, debit notes and accounting records.
- Prepare or coordinate Zakat and/or Corporate Income Tax filings, as applicable.
- Calculate and file Withholding Tax on payments to non-residents.
- Maintain transfer-pricing support for related-party transactions.
- Process payroll, allowances, overtime, deductions, leave provisions and end-of-service benefits.
- Prepare/upload Mudad/WPS files and reconcile GOSI contributions.
- Maintain a compliance calendar for all statutory filings and payments.
- Track and arrange payment of MISA, CR, Chamber, municipal, National Address, work permit, iqama, insurance and other government fees.
- Coordinate annual financial statements and Qawaem filing.
- Liaise with ZATCA, auditors, banks, tax advisers and relevant authorities. Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or similar) - mandatory.
- 4-6 years of accounting experience, including minimum 2 years in Saudi Arabia.
- Experience in contracting, industrial services or project-based companies preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/SOCPA, Saudi VAT, WHT, Zakat/CIT, e-invoicing, payroll, Mudad/WPS, GOSI and Qawaem.
- Practical experience in project costing, WIP, progress billing, retentions and subcontractor accounting.
- Advanced MS Excel and hands-on experience and Zoho Books
- SOCPA membership/eligibility preferred; CMA, ACCA, CPA or CA is an advantage.
- Fluent Arabic and good English, spoken and written - mandatory.
- Valid Saudi Iqama/transferable sponsorship, where applicable.
- High accuracy, confidentiality, ownership and ability to meet deadlines. Key Deliverables
