Accountant – Waqf (Endowment) Accounts | JeddahRole DescriptionOur client, a waqf (endowment) based in Jeddah, is looking for a full-time, on-site Accountant to manage the waqf's accounts under the supervision of the waqf's trustees (Nazirs).The Accountant will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, general ledger entries, and reconciliation of bank statements and accounts. Responsibilities include preparing periodic financial statements and reports for the trustees, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with budgeting and cash flow reporting. The role also involves supporting zakat, tax, and regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards and the waqf's policies. The Accountant will report directly to the trustees, coordinate with the waqf's external accountants and auditors, and contribute to improving its accounting processes.QualificationsSaudi national (required).Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).2–3 years of accounting experience; prior experience with endowments, non-profit entities, or a CPA firm is preferred.SOCPA membership or a professional certification is an advantage.Strong proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.Experience with bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.Knowledge of zakat and tax regulations and local accounting standards.Comfort with accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools.Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify discrepancies and risks.Effective written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.CompensationCompetitive salary and benefits package.
