Accountant

SELECTED is partnering with a compan in Dubai to hire an experienced Accountant to join its Finance team. We are recruiting at both Accountant and Senior Accountant level, so we welcome applications from accountants with 4+ years of experience, including those already working in a senior capacity.The RoleReporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage day-to-day accounting activities and make sure financial transactions are recorded accurately, on time and in line with company policies and accounting standards.Key ResponsibilitiesRecord and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting systemReview and process supplier invoices, employee expenses and payment requestsPrepare vendor payments in line with approved schedules and proceduresPerform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesManage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other accounting schedulesSupport or lead monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activitiesHelp prepare financial statements, management reports and supporting schedulesMonitor expenses, flag unusual variances and identify cost-saving opportunitiesSupport VAT calculations, documentation and filing in line with UAE regulationsWork with internal teams, vendors, customers, banks and auditors on accounting mattersEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies and accounting standardsWhat We Are Looking ForA degree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldA minimum of 4 years of accounting experience in a similar role (6+ years for the senior position)ACCA, CA, CPA or CMA, either completed or in progress, is an advantageStrong knowledge of reconciliations, AP, AR, general ledger and month-end closeWorking knowledge of UAE VAT regulationsProficiency in Excel and accounting or ERP systemsStrong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervisionFluent English; a second language is a plusWhy ApplyThis is an opportunity to join a well-established organisation in Dubai, in a finance team where accuracy, ownership and process improvement are valued.If this sounds like you, apply now and a member of the SELECTED team will be in touch.
