Accountant (Freight Forwarding)Location: Dubai, UAEEmployment: Full-time, on-siteWe are hiring an Accountant to manage our day-to-day accounting, monthly financial reporting, and company administration. The role has a strong focus on freight forwarding accounting.Key ResponsibilitiesVerify freight vendor invoices against agreed rates, quotations, shipment files, and supporting documents before payment.Prepare customer invoices and record vendor invoices, payment vouchers, and receipt vouchers in our internal software.Record corresponding transactions in QuickBooks and reconcile the two systems.Reconcile customer and vendor accounts, monitor receivables and payables, and follow up on overdue payments.Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and management reports covering shipment profitability and outstanding balances.Maintain accurate financial records and support VAT filings and external audits.Prepare accounting processes for UAE electronic invoicing and coordinate implementation by the applicable deadlines.Manage payroll and coordinate trade licence renewals, MOHRE matters, employment contracts, and other administrative deadlines.QualificationsA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Accounting experience in freight forwarding, NVOCC, shipping, or logistics is strongly preferred.Experience with QuickBooks and strong Excel skills.An understanding of freight charges, shipment documentation, and customer and vendor billing.Familiarity with UAE company administration and MOHRE procedures.Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and written and spoken English.Willingness to learn and work effectively in a multicultural team.
