Team members work with experienced professionals in a dynamic, international environment.Role Description The Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Erbil, responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations and supporting accurate, timely reporting. Key tasks include preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling bank and account balances, and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities. The role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring invoices, handling expense reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards. The Accountant will collaborate with logistics and operations teams to track costs, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial data needed for management decision-making. This position also supports audits, prepares financial documentation, and helps improve financial controls and processes.QualificationsStrong skills in general accounting, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements.Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, invoice handling, and reconciliations.Experience using accounting software and ERP systems; solid MS Excel skills for reporting and analysis.Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, basic tax principles, and internal control practices.Ability to analyze financial data, support budgeting and forecasting, and prepare clear financial reports.Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations and management teams.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) are an advantage.Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a similar industry is preferred but not required.Fluency in English, Arabic , knowledge of local languages is an asset. please send your resume to operations@main-land.net
