Accountant General

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant General to support the financial operations of a logistics business in Sharjah. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to timely reporting and compliance. This role works closely with internal teams to help ensure sound financial controls and reliable business insights.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger entries and maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records. - Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing schedules. - Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and budgets. - Monitor accounts payable and receivable, invoices, receipts, and payment processing. - Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies, ensuring issues are resolved promptly. - Track logistics-related costs, including freight, transportation, warehousing, and operating expenses. - Assist with cash-flow monitoring, financial analysis, and variance reporting. - Maintain organized financial documentation and support internal and external audits. - Help ensure compliance with applicable UAE accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies. - Coordinate with operations, procurement, and other departments to clarify transactions and improve financial processes. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Relevant experience in general accounting; experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain is an advantage. - Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. - Familiarity with UAE VAT and relevant financial compliance requirements. - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is beneficial. - High attention to detail, sound numerical and analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy. - Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to meet reporting deadlines. - Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. - Professional integrity and the ability to handle confidential financial information.
