This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing accounting activities related to international oil & gas and commodity trading operations.The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of trade finance, international transactions, shipment-wise accounting, revenue and cost recognition, reconciliations, and financial compliance. The role requires close coordination with Trading, Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting activities for the Oil & Gas Trading division, including journal entries, ledgers, payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.Handle end-to-end accounting cycles for trading transactions and maintain accurate financial records.Record and monitor purchase, sales, import/export, shipment, freight, insurance, storage, and other trade-related costs.Track revenue, margins, costs, and profitability on a shipment, contract, or trade basis.Verify commercial and trade documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, bills of lading, certificates, shipping documents, and supporting financial documents.Manage and reconcile international transactions involving multiple currencies, overseas suppliers, customers, banks, and counterparties.Maintain strong knowledge of foreign exchange (FX), currency conversion, bank charges, international payment terms, and foreign-currency accounting.Support accounting for Letters of Credit (LC), bank guarantees, advance payments, trade finance facilities, and other international trade-finance instruments.Ensure appropriate revenue recognition, cost allocation, accruals, provisions, and period-end adjustments related to trading transactions.Prepare monthly financial reports, management reports, reconciliations, and financial statements.Ensure compliance with applicable IFRS/accounting standards, UAE regulations, tax requirements, and internal financial controls.Maintain strong knowledge of international trade compliance, financial documentation, sanctions screening requirements, AML/KYC considerations, and regulatory controls relevant to commodity trading.Work closely with Traders, Shipping/Logistics Coordinators, Operations, Banks, Suppliers, Customers, and Management to resolve financial and documentation issues.Required Qualifications & SkillsProven experience in Oil & Gas Trading, Commodity Trading, Energy Trading, Shipping, or International Trading Finance.Strong understanding of general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, cash flow, and ledger management.Strong practical knowledge of international transactions and cross-border accounting.Experience handling multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange accounting.Good understanding of international trade documentation and trade-finance processes.Knowledge of IFRS, UAE financial regulations, taxation, internal controls, and compliance requirements.Understanding of AML/KYC and sanctions-related financial compliance within international trading is highly desirable.Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, numerical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and ability to work with high-volume and time-sensitive trading transactions.Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
