Accountant or Senior Accountant - Japan

Highlights of What You’ll DoReporting to the Regional Controller, you will own the day-to-day accounting operations for our Japan market. A typical day will involve:Accounting & General Ledger Maintenance:Oversee the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data; maintain and reconcile the full set of financial statements (including P&L and Balance Sheet)Assist in general financial management and analysisFinancial Reporting:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the respective entitiesEnsure compliance with local/IFRS accounting principles and adherence to company policiesPrepare regular internal reports for leadership review, providing actionable insights and data-driven recommendations for continuous improvementTeam & Cross-Functional Collaboration:Coordinate with the local Tax Analyst to ensure accurate financial reportingIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyPromote collaboration between internal stakeholders to gather financial data and insights, and to maximize organizational efficiency What You’ll Bring AlongMust-Haves:5+ years of relevant accounting experienceAdvanced general ledger accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldStrong understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance requirements in JapanMathematical, budgeting, and financial reporting backgroundExceptional skills in Sage Intacct and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, Outlook)Strong attention to detail, coupled with high standardsHighly organized and self-disciplined; ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage expectationsExceptional analytical, quantitative, and social skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-drivenAbility to thrive in a growing international organization; highly self-motivated; ability to work independently while collaborating with a global finance team across time zonesTeam player with strong interpersonal skillsOutstanding ability to communicate confidently, verbally and in writing; exceptional communication skills virtually and in personFluency in Japanese and EnglishNice-to-Haves:Advanced education in a business discipline or accounting is an assetUnderstanding of e-commerce or online marketplaces is an assetCPA designation or certification in process is an assetFluency in Mandarin is an assetWhat We’ll Give YouSalary:HK$420,000 to HK$600,000 per year, commensurate with experiencePerks:Autonomous and flexible work environmentGrowth Opportunities:High potential for advancement in a fast-growing companyWe are always looking for top talent.
