JOB OVERVIEWThe Accountant, Payables and Receivables owns the transactional accounting cycle across all operating entities, processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs, raising customer invoices and managing collections from a single centralized function. Because both cycles sit with one job holder, compensating controls apply. The job holder prepares payments but does not authorize or release them, does not create or amend supplier bank details, and does not approve credit notes or write-offs.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts PayableProcess supplier invoices across all entities, matching each to an approved purchase order and goods or service receipt before posting.Return unmatched, unapproved or badly documented invoices to the originating business rather than processing them on assurance.Prepare scheduled payment runs with supporting documentation and submit for authorization by approved signatories.Reconcile supplier statements, resolve disputed items, and administer expense claims and petty cash in line with group policy.Accounts Receivable and CollectionsRaise customer invoices accurately and on schedule across leasing rentals, real estate receivables, trading and hospitality billing.Administer recurring billing and direct debits for the leasing portfolio, including recharge of Salik, fines, insurance and maintenance costs.Apply receipts promptly, reconcile the receivables ledger to the bank, and run the collections cycle including reminders, dunning and follow-up calls.Produce the receivables aging report monthly and escalate overdue and at-risk balances with a recommended course of action.Records and ReportingMaintain complete supporting documentation for every transaction, sufficient to satisfy internal and external audit.Assist the Senior Accountant with month-end close activity, including accruals and cut-off.Code transactions accurately and completely so that data supplied to Group Finance and the Tax Manager is reliable at source.Control BoundariesThe job holder prepares payments for authorization and holds no payment release or bank authorization rights.Supplier master data, including bank details, is created and amended only by an independent approver. The job holder submits requests with evidence.Credit notes, write-offs and adjustments require CFO approval before posting. Any request to bypass these controls is reported to the CFO.POSITION REQUIREMENTSEducational QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.Part-qualification towards ACCA, CPA or CMA is an advantage.Work ExperienceMinimum three years of payables and receivables experience, with genuine hands-on exposure to both cycles.Demonstrable collections experience, including direct customer contact on overdue balances.UAE experience preferred, with familiarity with local invoicing and documentation practice.Experience in a multi-entity environment, or in leasing, real estate, trading or hospitality, is an advantage.Technical CompetenciesSolid grounding in the transactional cycle, including three-way matching, period cut-off and subledger to general ledger reconciliation.Strong Excel and experience with the AP and AR modules of an ERP or accounting system.Understanding of why segregation of duties exists and how the controls in this role operate.Skills & Personal AttributesHigh accuracy under volume across several entities, keeping documentation audit-ready as work is performed rather than retrospectively.Firm but professional in collections, pursuing an overdue balance without damaging the customer relationship.Confident declining a transaction that does not meet requirements. Strong English, Arabic an advantage, with high personal integrity.Uphold company values and utilize sound judgment in decision making.Any other duties as required by management based on the needs of the business.
