Reaching up to 100million individuals daily, the MultiChoice Group is using its scale and distribution to expand its platform to include sports betting and interactive entertainment, fin-tech services, household services (focused on internet connectivity with emergency response services) and ed-tech.Irdeto which is MCG’s technology business, provides platform cybersecurity services which protect over 6 billion devices and applications globally for some of the world’s best media and technology brands, as well as clients in the connected industriesKey Performance ObjectivesTasks Governance, Controls & PoliciesProvide input into the development, implementation and maintenance of robust controls, procedures and policiesEnsure relevant processes are implemented and documented for all fixed assets, revenue, subsidy, stock and intercompany activities Provide input into risk control matrix and ensure relevant controls implemented to mitigate these risksIdentification of control weaknesses and recommendations for improvementsEnsure compliance to accounting policies, internal controls and external auditsSupport internal audits and ensure that any findings are timely resolvedSupport on external audit findings and implementation of recommendationsAssist in the improvement and development of processes and systems for accounting purposesCollaborate with cross functional teams within Shared Services centre and the business partners to ensure compliance, accuracy and efficiency in financial areasEnforce governance of the Revenue, Stock & Subsidy, Fixed Assets and intercompany policies and recommend policy enhancementsSupport the Shared Services centre Innovation team in governance initiativesMonth end and Year end Responsible for the month end and year end reportingResponsible for fixed assets, revenue, subsidy stock activities and intercompany accountingProvide meaningful analysis to explain trends, as well as explaining variances to Prior month/year actualsPrepare schedules or reports of sub systems and ensure this tie back to the GLEnsure Revenue interface journals are complete, accurate and reasonableEnsure compliance to related policies and procedures e.g. stock obsolescence, stock take procedures, credit management etc. Ensure accuracy and completeness of fixed assets register. Alignment to tax asset registerPerform the monthly HFM process including loading the trial balance, completing validations, updating disclosures – and ensure fixed assets are accurately reported in Income Statement, Balance Sheet and CashflowReview the outcome of stock takes and highlight risk areasWork with business partners and other Shared Services departments to ensure an accurate and efficient month end closeResponsible for parking journals and ensure accurate processing in SAPResponsible for Balance Confirmation of IntercompanyReconciliation of SAP balances to HFMAnalyse the trial balance and explanation/commentary for movements compared to previous months. Analyse of GL accountsEnsure that Balance Sheet accounts are accurately recorded and reconciled as per the reconciliation policyDevelop value added reports to provide to Finance Business PartnersResolve queries received from business partnersConsult with the Tax Team on applicable matters related to month end closeTimely & relevant delivery of analysis, insight and actions Assist in the year end pack reporting process and audit for Finance Shared ServicesPreparation of reporting packs and Financial Statements and disclosures at interim and year end. Assess disclosures required, create templates and automated reportsPreparation of Annual Financial Statement processSupport the Annual Financial Statement and Statutory Pack process. Provide relevant disclosuresTimely & relevant delivery of analysis, insight and actions Drive and monitor KPIs and implement initiatives to ensure improvements. Ensure that all relevant and strategic KPIs are reportedInitiate and manage the improvement of processes and work towards standardisation of relevant aspects such as reports, data analysis etc.Drive shared service principles, efficiencies and standardisation and automation across the various businesses. Standardisation of processes across the BUsWork with cross functional teams in the shared services and business to ensure compliance, accuracy and efficiency in financial areasGeneralAssist the Record to Report Financial Manager and Financial Controller on finance projectsAd hoc projects that arise on a continuing basisAnalysis and financial modellingManage, improve and develop relationships with internal & external stakeholdersSupport the Shared Services centre Innovation team on projectsQualificationsBCom / Relevant qualificationBCom Honours preferredExperience & SkillsMinimum 1 years’ relevant experience in a similar role
