Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Description The Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Karnataka, India, responsible for guiding ANBCB’s strategic direction and overseeing core programs and operations. The Director will lead the development and execution of initiatives in bioinformatics, computational biology, and related domains, including conferences, training programs, research collaborations, and outreach activities. This role involves managing partnerships with academic institutions, industry, and international organizations, as well as securing funding through grants, sponsorships, and other resource mobilization efforts. The Director will supervise staff and volunteers, set performance objectives, and ensure effective governance, compliance, and reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, budget oversight, and representing ANBCB in regional and global forums to strengthen its visibility and impact.QualificationsAdvanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, biotechnology, data science, or a closely related field.Proven leadership experience in research, academic, or non-profit settings, with a track record of managing multi-stakeholder scientific programs or networks.Experience in strategic planning, program design, and execution, particularly in scientific capacity-building, training, or collaborative research initiatives.Demonstrated ability in fundraising, grant writing, budget management, and resource allocation for research or organizational activities.Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills, including working with universities, research institutes, funders, and industry partners.Excellent communication skills, including scientific communication, public speaking, and the ability to represent the organization in regional and international forums.Experience working in or with African scientific communities or global health and research networks is highly beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Karnataka, India, with readiness for regional and international travel as needed.
