The company serves the world’s finest hotels, restaurants, and retailers with high-quality table, bed, and bath linens.Role OverviewGarnier Thiebaut is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our Accounting team. This position supports a broad range of day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, invoice and purchase order processing, vendor account management, freight cost analysis, reconciliations, sales tax filings, multicurrency transactions, and month- and year-end closing activities.The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, highly organized, and comfortable working with detailed financial information, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with vendors and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes.This position is full-time, in-office five days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.Process and analyze freight cost.Review and reconcile purchase orders against vendor invoices.Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and billing records.Research and resolve invoice, payment, and accounting discrepancies.Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account questions.Ensure appropriate discounts and payment terms are applied when applicable.Reconcile vendor statementsAssist with monthly and year-end closing activities.Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and accounting reports.Process sales tax processing and filings.Process and assist with multicurrency transactions, including Euro and U.S. Dollar transactions.Process customer payments and credit card transactions as needed.Assist with accounts receivable activities and account reconciliations as assigned.Maintain accurate and organized accounting files, records, and supporting documentation.Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.Assist with special accounting projects and other duties as assigned.Required Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.1–2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.Working knowledge of general accounting principles and processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.Hands-on experience processing sales tax, including preparing and/or filing sales tax returns.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Experience working with accounting or ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.Experience with multicurrency transactions is a plus.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.Compensation & BenefitsStarting pay for this role is $28.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
