Our first product, Chewie, is a first-of-its-kind appliance that converts household kitchen wet waste into regenerated soil.Role OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support Mankomb’s day-to-day production related accounting, documentation, reconciliation and financial reporting activities.This is a hands-on role offering exposure to the finance operations of a growing hardware and deep-tech company. The intern will work with the management team, employees, vendors and external accounting professionals.Key ResponsibilitiesRecord purchase invoices, sales invoices, receipts, payments and journal entries in Zoho Books/Zoho ERP.Verify invoices, expense claims, supporting documents and approval records before accounting.Maintain organised digital records of invoices, receipts, contracts and statutory documents.Assist with bank, vendor, customer and ledger reconciliations.Track employee travel advances, reimbursements and expense settlements.Monitor accounts payable and receivable and prepare periodic ageing statements.Assist with vendor payments and maintain payment-status records.Support customer invoicing, collections tracking and accounting for customer advances.Maintain fixed-asset registers and supporting documentation.Assist with inventory, procurement and production-related accounting records.Support GST, TDS and other statutory-compliance workings under supervision.Coordinate with the company’s Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and other professional advisors when required.Prepare basic MIS reports covering expenditure, cash position, receivables, payables and budget variances.Assist during audits, due diligence, grant reporting and investor-information requests.Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while handling financial and company information.Candidate ProfilePursuing or recently completed a B.Com, M.Com, BBA Finance, MBA Finance, CA Intermediate, CMA or a related qualification.Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial statements.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.Ability to maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.Good written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to learn and work in a fast-moving startup environment.High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professional conduct.Preferred SkillsFamiliarity with Zoho Books, Zoho Expense, Tally or another accounting system.Basic understanding of GST, TDS, invoice requirements and bank reconciliation.Experience with Excel functions, pivot tables and financial reporting.Previous internship or project experience in accounting, audit or finance operations.Interest in startup finance, manufacturing or hardware businesses.What You Will LearnPractical accounting and finance operations in a growing company.End-to-end processing of invoices, payments, expenses and reconciliations.Use of accounting and ERP systems for business transactions.GST, TDS, audit and statutory-compliance support.Working-capital, inventory and manufacturing-related accounting.Preparation of management reports and financial information for decision-making.Internship TermsThis is a full-time internship for a fixed period of three months.The role requires regular presence at Mankomb’s Bengaluru facility.The stipend will be up to ₹25,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s qualifications, skills and relevant experience.Successful completion of the internship does not automatically guarantee permanent employment.
