As we continue to grow, we're seeking passionate individuals to join our dynamic team and contribute to our journey of success.Position: Accounting Operations OfficerLocation: KSA – RiyadhType: Full-timeThe Accounting Operations Officer is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager in managing and controlling the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial transactions, timely reconciliations, proper accounting controls, and compliance with ABYAT policies and applicable accounting standards.The role acts as a key operational link between the Accounting Manager and the accounting team, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time while identifying and resolving operational accounting issues across the business.Key Responsibilities:Accounting OperationsOversee daily accounting activities and ensure transactions are accurately and timely recorded.Supervise General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, intercompany, and other accounting activities as assigned.Review accounting entries, journal vouchers, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and adjustments.Ensure transactions are properly classified by account, cost center, business unit, and relevant dimensions.Monitor outstanding accounting items and ensure timely resolution.Support the Accounting Manager in maintaining the overall accuracy and integrity of the accounting records.Financial Controls and ComplianceEnsure compliance with IFRS, company accounting policies, internal controls, and Delegation of Authority.Monitor adherence to accounting procedures and recommend corrective actions where required.Ensure adequate supporting documentation and audit trails are maintained.Support internal and external audits and provide requested schedules and documentation.Follow up on audit findings related to accounting operations and ensure timely closure.Support VAT, Zakat, tax, and other statutory accounting requirements as applicable.Month End ClosingSupport and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.Prepare and review balance sheet and General Ledger reconciliations.Follow up on outstanding reconciliation items and ensure timely clearance.Review accruals, provisions, prepaid expenses, and other closing adjustments.Ensure accounting closing activities are completed according to the agreed Finance calendar.Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.Operational & Business SupportWork closely with Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Projects, Commercial, and other departments to resolve accounting-related operational issues.Ensure proper accounting treatment of inventory-related transactions, supplier transactions, customer accounts, and operational expenses.Support the accounting requirements of new business initiatives, stores, projects, or processes.Act as a point of contact for accounting operational issues requiring cross-functional coordination.Process Improvement & SystemsIdentify gaps and inefficiencies within accounting processes and recommend improvements.Support automation and standardization of accounting activities.Ensure accurate processing and controls within SAP/ERP systems.Work with Finance, IT, and relevant departments to resolve system and accounting process issues.Participate in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.Team SupervisionSupport the Accounting Manager in supervising and developing the accounting team.Review work completed by accountants and accounting officers.Allocate and follow up on daily and monthly accounting activities.Provide guidance and support to team members in resolving accounting issues.Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.Promote accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional certification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA or equivalent is an advantage.Approximately 6–9 years of progressive accounting experience, with previous supervisory or senior accounting responsibility.Strong hands-on experience in accounting operations, General Ledger, reconciliations, and month-end closing.Good knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.Experience in retail, distribution, building materials, home improvement, or another high-volume transactional environment is preferred.Strong experience with SAP or another major ERP system is preferred.GCC experience is an advantage.Apply now and take the first step towards an exciting career with ABYAT!
