Apply & track with Apply EdgeAccounts ManagerLocation: Dubai, UAEEmployment: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on Accounts Manager to lead the accounting and financial-control activities of our contracting operations in Dubai.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining reliable financial records, supervising the accounting team, strengthening internal controls and providing management with accurate and timely financial information. The role requires strong contracting-sector experience, advanced QuickBooks Online knowledge and a practical understanding of UAE tax regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the accounting function and supervise the daily work of the accounts team.Ensure transactions are recorded accurately through the appropriate accounting workflows.Manage monthly and year-end closing and deliver timely management accounts.Review bank, credit-card, petty-cash and balance-sheet reconciliations.Oversee receivables, payment allocation, customer statements and collection activities.Review accounts payable, supplier reconciliations, advances, retention and payment schedules.Monitor project costs, profitability, work in progress and cash-flow requirements.Reconcile related-party, intercompany, employee and partner accounts.Maintain appropriate controls over fixed assets, inventory and financial documentation.Review VAT returns and Corporate Tax calculations and ensure timely regulatory compliance.Coordinate external audits and provide complete supporting schedules and records.Prepare budgets, forecasts, ageing reports and financial analysis for management.Establish accounting policies, approval controls and monthly closing procedures.Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses and process-improvement opportunities.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.Minimum eight years of progressive accounting experience.Minimum five years of accounting experience in contracting or construction.Minimum three years of relevant experience in the GCC.Previous experience supervising accountants or managing an accounts function.Advanced practical knowledge of QuickBooks Online, including transaction workflows, reconciliations, closing and reporting.Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, FTA requirements and EmaraTax.Good understanding of project accounting, retention, advances, work in progress and cost allocation.Strong Microsoft Excel, budgeting and financial-analysis skills.ACCA, CMA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.Good written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.What We ValueStrong ownership, integrity and professional judgement.Attention to detail without losing sight of commercial priorities.Effective leadership and review of accounting-team output.Strong collection, follow-up and problem-solving skills.Ability to meet reporting and statutory deadlines.Confidence in communicating with management, auditors, customers, suppliers and government authorities.How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit an updated CV stating their current location, notice period, expected salary, team-management experience and relevant contracting background.Please use the subject line: Accounts Manager – Dubai.
